Gary Fong’s new color reference kit, distributed by HaPa’s team, helps photographers in critical situations easily control white balance for true-to-nature color reproduction.
Achieving Spot On Accurate Color With A Neutral gray dome.
It consists of two attachments, the WhiteDome for the light measurement and the GrayDome for the object measurement, and costs 30 euros. The domes are made of durable plastic, are easy to clean and remain stable even at high temperatures.
Achieving Spot-On Accurate Color with your Nikon DSLR and Custom White Balance
In the object measurement, a reference photo is taken with the GrayDome in the image, which then serves as a reference point for the subsequent white balance in the postprocessing on the computer, which then applies to all photographs of the respective series.
Also interesting is
The light measurement measures the incident light at the object without taking into account the motif. For this purpose, the camera from the autofocus is set to manual focus, automatic program and manual white balance presetting before recording a reference photo with the WhiteDome in front of the lens. Then the recording takes place from the direction of the motif to the later camera end point. With this white image, the individual manual white balance is performed in the camera.
The attachments can be plugged together when space is not needed. With the supplied belt they can be worn on the body without disturbing. The WhiteDome can also be used as a flash attachment for a soft and diffuse illumination with flash-on flashes. It is compatible with all Gary Fong Lightsphere diffusers, including Lightsphere Collapsible.
