AD: Abnormal dispersion = Special lens lens element to compensate for the dispersion of other lenses


AF: Lenses with autofocus


Asph: aspherical lens = for optimized error correction


HID: high index high dispersion - HID glass element to minimize chromatic aberration


Di: image field up to 24 x 36 mm format


Di II: only for models with APS format sensor


D III: Lenses for mirrorless system cameras


IF: Internal Focusing


LD: Low Dispersion = with lens element of special glass with very low color dispersion


PZD: PiezoDrive = Piezoelectric drive motor based on standing wave


SP: SuperPerformance = particularly complex optical design


USD: Ultrasonic Silent Drive = piezoelectric autofocus motor, based on a progressive wave


VC: Vibration Compensation = optical image stabilizer


XLD: Extra Low Dispersion = lens element made of special glass with very low color dispersion


XR: Extra Refractive = Special glass with very high refractive power
