Medion P83778 (MD 90207): External hard drive at Aldi for 69.99 euros

As of September 30, Aldi Nord will be offering the Medion P83778 (MD 90207). The external hard disk can serve with a storage volume of 1 terabyte and at a price of 69.99 euros. The price is the average for comparable devices. If you have an Aldi PC such as the Akoya P2310 D (MD 8823), you can plug the external hard drive directly into the so-called Medion data port. This port is similar to a docking station and allows you to connect the HDD directly to your PC without having to fabricate cable.

Medion provides three years of manufacturing warranty, as with most products. You should make sure that you have at least Windows XP (Service Pack 3) installed on your PC or notebook before purchase. Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) are compatible with the external hard drive. Of course, at least one USB interface must be available for connection. The package includes a plug-in power supply, a USB cable for 3.0 and 2.0 connections.

The USB 3.0 port of the Medion P83778 (MD 90207) theoretically allows a very high data rate of up to five gigabits per second. This is up to ten times faster than it is possible with USB 2.0 at all. At such a rate, however, they usually only come with SSDs. With the hard drive from Aldi, you can only benefit from the high speed, because the HDD is typically equipped with a classic magnetic disk drive in 3.5 "format. The external HDD weighs approximately 900 grams with a length of 185 millimeters, a width of 118 millimeters and a height of 38 millimeters.
