AIDA32 is a free analysis program for private users. The tool recognizes the hardware components built into your computer and provides detailed details about the motherboard, chipset, processor, memory, hard drive, optical drives, and so on. For the fast display of detailed information about the inner life of a PC, the Windows own resources are only conditionally suitable. With AIDA32 you get a very good system diagnostics tool. The Explorer-like structure allows easy operation through the individual categories. For a detailed overview, please refer to the “Computer / Overview” section. Here, AIDA32 provides extensive information about the entire system. This includes notes on the PC hardware including the BIOS, the operating system installed, as well as on running processes and services. Also, notes on installing drivers, loaded DLL files, and application programs are available. In about 90 sections such as processor, motherboard, memory chips, input devices, data carriers, AIDA32 also displays links to the manufacturer’s website and the driver download page in addition to the hardware details. The “Devices” entry is located in the menu bar at the left edge of the program window. This gives detailed information on the installed hardware via various submenus: The “Windows Devices” item evaluates the registry entries of Windows and thus forms the Windows device manager. “Physical Devices” lists the entire hardware on the PCI bus and all plug-and-play devices as well as all USB devices. The item “PCI devices” also provides information about the PCI IDs of the individual components. In the case of stability problems, the point “device resources”, which shows the occupancy of IRQs and storage areas, is helpful. The collected information can be output on the screen with AIDA32, printed or saved in a file in the formats HTML, CSV or XML. In the “Plugin” menu, the four modules CPUID for displaying processor details, disk benchmark, monitor diagnostics and network benchmark are hidden. Remarkable for a freeware: If the tool is installed on a second client PC, analyzes can also be performed in the network. Please note: AIDA32 supports over 28,000 hardware components. However, since the tool is no longer developed, new hardware components may no longer be recognized correctly or with the correct designation. The built-in database can also no longer be updated via the update manager.
