Corsair Force GS 360 GB tested: Most SSDs are produced with 240 or 480 GB of storage capacity. Not so the Corsair Force GS, it is with 360 GBytes memory or 335 GiB to have. By the way, our GiB (Gibibyte) is the actual amount of memory that is actually available to you after setting up in Windows.
With an online price including shipping costs of circa 235 euros, the SSD from Corsair offers a favorable price per GiB of 70 cents and is thus clearly aimed at bargain hunters. Who saves, but must also count here with performance losses. The hard drive is equipped with a SandForce SF-2281 controller, is equipped with MLC memory modules in 24-nm design and is to reach read / write rates of 555 or 530 MB / s - according to the manufacturer
In the test lab, we measure 484 MB of sequential read and 219 MB / s write rate. The maximum write rate reached in the test lab is 508 MBytes / s with 8 MBytes of large files. For very small files, however, the transmission rate drops below 20 MB / s. The access times for reading and writing are very good and the power consumption is also very low.
