UltraSearch Portable uses a trick to search directories and files for terms even without indexing within seconds. Instead of circling all folders and subfolders in sequence, the software simply opens the so-called “Master File Table” (MFT), the central table of contents of a drive


This catalog shows which file is located in which folder. It also provides information such as the size and file date that UltraSearch Portable issues together with the hits in table form. Click on the column heading and the results are sorted accordingly. Good: You can use a filter function to exclude backup files from the search. UltraSearch Portable works only on drives with NTFS file system
