The Kinect controller of the Xbox One can be used with an adapter on a PC with Windows 8. In addition to a USB 3.0 port, this requires a PC or tablet running Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 as the operating system.
The Microsoft adapter is already listed at some retailers for around 55 euros. Since the official Kinect controller alone costs 199 euros, this is an inexpensive alternative for the owner of the movement control Xbox One Kinect, in order to use the controller also on the PC.
For the Kinect Controller to be used on Windows, Microsoft has released first apps in the Windows store that work with Kinect. With the free app YAKiT you can use simple animations of photos. In addition, the images can be edited with embroidery, special effects and the like. The 3DBuilder app creates 3D objects from people or people that can take a plastic form through a 3D printer.
Microsoft also released the new SDK 2.0 developer kit as a free download. The software development kit includes 200 improvements, including the Visual Gesture Builder, Kinect Studio, and Kinect Fusion, to simplify and accelerate the creation of Kinect apps. Microsoft also allows Kinect developers to offer their paid apps on the Windows Store for the first time.
