Mainboards: Canterwood board

With the 875P (Codename “Canterwood”), Intel introduces a new chipset, which accelerates the system bus from 533 MHz to 800 MHz. This chipset is in the new motherboard of Asus, the P4C800 Deluxe. The board works with Pentium IV and Celeron processors of the latest generation and can be provided with a total of four GB of RAM. The equipment of the almost 250 euro expensive board can be seen. In addition to four USB2.0 ports, there is also a FireWire port and a digital audio output. Of course, the board is equipped with connectors for Serial ATA hard drives, but it also allows to build a RAID system from conventional UDMA hard disks. Asus brings a total of five PCI slots under the face of the lush basic equipment with 6.1 sound and onboard LAN should be sufficient for almost all users. A connection for an optional wireless LAN receiver according to 802.11b standard is also available, but due to steadily dropping prices for corresponding USB adapters can be used at most with PCHerstellern. Asus, despite its high price, is economical in its accessories. Apertures with additional USB ports or FireWire ports are missing as well as a panel for front panel mounting.
