In general, browser updates are now no longer as cool as before. New features that improve everyday life noticeably are rare. But with pretty much every browser update, there are bug fixes and some security holes are closed. Therefore, always update your browser immediately when it becomes available. This is the best protection against dangerous websites that infect visitors’ PCs with malware.
1. Browser updates
- Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge are automatically updated via Microsoft Update.
- Chrome is self-sufficient. Click the menu button with the three dots to the right of the address field, then click Help and Google Chrome to check their status and start a search for updates manually
- Firefox brings an auto-update function. Tap the Alt key, and then click About Firefox in the Help menu. There you can see the currently installed version and at the same time start the online update by hand
