Update: From the Chinese website Benchlife come new details to the Geforce GTX 1050. Beside rumors to a release date in October and the Specs, there are now also concrete prices. Thus, variants of the Pascal graphics card with 2 and with 4 GB are to come onto the market. The 2GB version is expected to start at $ 119, while the $ 4GB version will cost $ 149.

Benchlife also states that the entry-level graphics cards actually have a maximum consumption of 75 watts with a power supply exclusively via the PCI Express slot. For more information, please refer to the original message.

Nvidia and AMD did not seem to get in the way with new graphics cards at first. After the high-end graphics chips Geforce GTX 1080 and 1070, the third-largest Pascal graphics card - the Geforce GTX 1060 - was designed for budget-oriented users, who so far have looked at AMD's similarly expensive and powerful Radeon RX 480.

The competitor AMD aimed instead at the high-end market on the medium and starter class and later presented the chips RX 470 and RX 460, which at prices of under 200 euros represent for many price-conscious players a good alternative. Nvidia would now like to win this market for beginners and the lower middle class.

On the Chinese website Benchlife are test values of a Geforce GTX 1050 dipped. These suggest a graphics card with 2GB VRAM and 768 cores (shader). The next larger Geforce GTX 1060 offers 1,280 shaders and 6 or 3 GB graphics memory. There is supposedly a lower clock rate (1,316 versus 1,506 MHz), less memory bandwidth (121.1 versus 192 GB / s), less rendering (32 versus 48), and texture units (64 vs. 80) Br>

This reduces the power consumption - from 120 on the GTX 1060 to 75 watts on the GTX 1050. Interesting: If the consumption was 75 watts, the graphics card would not need an additional power supply. The PCI Express slot delivers exactly this performance. This would make the GPU for mini-PCs very easy to play. The values at this point sound very believable. It remains to be seen whether they turn out to be true. The price is not yet given, but according to Benchlife it should be in October. This is the release.
