3D models as free download

There are many cost-effective design tools available for creating 3D models, but you can also create models that are available as free downloads. These open source tools include OpenSCAD, Blender, Wings3D, FreeCAD, and SketchUp from Google. These 3D programs can be downloaded free of charge and used on your computer.

Templates from the Internet

For the introduction for simple 3D models the above-mentioned free downloads are sufficient. Alternatives include 3dtin.com and Tinkercard. These two tools come without any installation and can be operated via the browser. You can save finished 3D objects best in the 3D print formats.stl, .ply, or.obj, depending on the format your program supports.

You have a 3D printer, but no time to design a 3D model yourself? Or you just want to see what your 3D printer can do? No problem!

On the Internet, there are now numerous web pages, on which 3D models and templates are offered as free download. These are usually offered in the .stl format and only have to be opened in the corresponding design tool. You can also adjust the size and wall thickness, and the 3D printer can start.

We have compiled a selection of useful, unusual and creative 3D model templates for you in our gallery. Note, however, that not every 3D printer can perfectly print any model downloaded as a template.
