Dried Platinum HQ1615 in the test

Just 150 euros cost the tripod set platinum HQ1615 from Dörr. The aluminum tripod is equipped with a pocket, carrying strap and a net, which can be suspended between the bars as a shelf or for weights. It is not very light with less than 2 kg including head, but it offers a maximum working height of 168.5 cm, without a 135 cm cross-section. In general it makes a solid and well-processed impression. Despite the reversible spars, the pack size does not look as compact as 52.5 cm. The spars – only one is covered with neoprene – have a large diameter, which is good for handling. On the other hand, the spreading angles are innovative. Of these, six automatically lock in – three normal and three in reverse orientation. So it is also very stable on the head and comes directly to the ground – without any modification. In addition to big rubber feet, it has spikes when you remove the feet and turn around again.

Shortcut

The ball head also makes a good impression. The camera sits on an 8 cm long rail, which is protected against falling. In addition, the track has a tape that protects the camera while removing it. A water scale is missing, but there is a scale on the panorama axis. The printed friction scale does not match the setting. If the setting is very tight, the panorama axis will hang at one point, otherwise it will run smoothly - Fine adjustment will not be smooth with the ball joint.

The fixing deflection is good with 11 mm to 5 m, the vibration resistance in the frame. Heavy lenses, however, do not tolerate the set: it sags over 5 cm to 5 m - too much for telephoto shots.

The Dörr Platin HQ1615 offers good equipment and innovative details at the best price in the test field. For telephoto lenses or precise alignment, however, the set is not suitable - buy tip price / performance.
