Gallery: QuickSteps for Outlook 2010

Tip 1: Create default texts

In older versions of Outlook, frequently required standard texts were often stored in signatures and, if necessary, inserted into the e-mail. This is no longer possible from Outlook 2007/2010, because only one signature per e-mail is possible. Alternatively, texts from other sources (such as Word) can be copied and inserted into the e-mail. But this is not necessary at all, because the QuickSteps provide a solution.; In the QuickSteps, activate the command "Create new". The "Edit QuickStep" dialog box is displayed. Type the following in the Name box: Promise. Then, open the "Enter Action" drop-down box and choose "New Message" from the "Reply" section. To send this message to any address, leave the To field blank, and click instead The Show Options command. This command is located as a hyperlink to the right of the "To" field. The dialog box is now extended by the fields "Subject", "Identification", "Importance" and "Text". For the default text, the "Text" field is of interest, and type the text you want. The method of inserting several text passages here has proved successful. If you do not want to create different QuickSteps as text modules, you can delete unnecessary or inappropriate texts later in the e-mail. By clicking the "Finish" button, your QuickStep will be created. The newly created QuickStep now appears in the QuickSteps group. Clicking on this QuickStep will create a new e-mail with the standard texts you specify.
