The aim of the expansion is to recognize cyber-attacks much earlier than was previously possible. For major customers, T-Systems will develop new security services from the defense center that will complement the existing offer under the title “Advanced Cyber Defense.”
Basic services for the new center are provided by the current Telecom Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT), which monitors, analyzes and counteracts cyber incidents around the world. New heart is an intelligent analysis tool. It allows the Telekom to recognize specific patterns of behavior by means of defined search parameters, which point to a cyber attack. Through this investigation in real time, it is possible to quickly take countermeasures in the event of an attack.
The new analysis method reduces the relevant amounts of data that had to be investigated so far for the detection of cyber attacks. The tool is based on the idea of a modular safety approach: it supplements preventive measures where pure foreclosure is no longer possible or economically viable. At the end of this year, Deutsche Telekom plans to start operating its Cyber Defense Center.
