TP-Link TL-WPA8630P Kit tested

TP-Link TL-WPA8630P Kit tested: The HomePlug AV2 kit consists of a 1200 PLC plug connected to the router and a PLC extender with an integrated dual-band access point as well as three Gigabit LAN- Ports. After the firmware update of the PLC adapter with the tpPLC utility, the kit convinced us with very good transmission rates over the domestic power grid.

Under ideal conditions, we measured 380 MBit / s (net), and even with unfavorable connections, the transfer with 130 MBit / s was still quite high. In operation the adapter takes 2.4 watts and the Extender just under 5 watts of power. The Extender supports at 5 GHz only the channels 36 to 48.
