Windows 10: Solve typical problems after Anniversary Update

Since August, the latest Anniversary Update for Windows 10 is available. Users benefit from the update automatically – the current version is gradually made available to all users via the Windows function. The update can also be imported with Microsoft’s Windows 10 Update Wizard. The program checks the system and then starts the transfer of the Windows 10-year update to the hard drive. As in the previous versions, however, not all updates work on all computers.

If problems arise after the update, this is often due to the stricter rules for signed drivers, especially for 64-bit systems. There should be no problems with new installations by the user or with updates from older versions on a computer with BIOS. This also applies to 32-bit installations. If problems arise with modern hardware, start the UEFI setup and change to BIOS-compatible mode. Then the option for the safe UEFI boot of the operating system is deactivated. Tip: If the Windows 10 WLAN drivers on a notebook do not work properly after an update, disable the wireless network. Connect the device to the router using a LAN cable. Look for the new drivers on the manufacturer's website. Load the package and play it over the device manager. Then, enable and test the wireless connection


Windows provides automatic driver updates and their installation. Lastly, however, there were always difficulties at this point. The hardware does not always work correctly after the new software has been loaded. The automatic updates can be turned off to load and install the new drivers.


To do this, open Windows Explorer and right-click on the icon for this PC. Select Properties from the context menu. The system control starts and changes automatically to system and security / system. Click on Advanced System Settings and on the Hardware tab in the following window. Then use the Device Installation Settings buttons. Enable the No option. Save the settings with Save changes. The procedure also works under Windows 8.1
