Canon today released a new firmware for its professional EOS C100 and C300 film camera.
The updates provide for minor improvements - such as moving the magnification display on the LCD monitor via the MAGN function. In addition, the camera can now control up to an ISO sensitivity of 80,000.
The new menu option "Key lock" allows you to lock all controls, including the start and stop buttons. The internal camera menus can now be controlled directly using the buttons on the camera. So far this only worked with the joystick.
In addition, the peripheral lighting correction is now available in seven Canon Cinema lenses (with EF bayonet) and eleven Canon EF lenses. The continuous focus and proper aperture setting for a subject in the middle of the screen is now available for the EF-S 18-55mm 1: 3.5-5.6 IS STM lens. The update can be downloaded here via Windwos or Mac OS.
The C300 gets the additional video recording mode 1.440 x 1.080 / 35 Mbit / s with firmware version 1.1.0.1.00 and a support for the optionally available GPS receiver GP-E1 donated. In addition, the dynamic range has been improved to 800% and the reduction of flickering has been further optimized.
