Several PCs, laptops, telephones, printers, smartphones or peers can be networked via the HomeBox. With an integrated WLAN router with N-standard, data can be transferred between HomeBox and PC.
Connectivity
The HomeBox has a USB interface to connect printers or storage media such as external hard drives. Thus, it is possible that all laptops or smart pads use a printer. In addition, users of all of these devices can access the stored files, photos, or videos at any time, and view them on an internet-enabled TV, for example. In addition, the device provides a Virtual Private Network (VPN) feature that allows customers to securely access their files on the move.
The standard WPA2 and a firewall should ensure high transmission security and protection. As the AVM Fritz! Box 6360 Cable already has an integrated cable modem, it can be attached directly to the Internet and telephone connection. The four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces allow customers to use the multi-function device for their high-speed Internet connections.
Support for analog phones and Dect
In addition to two analog telephones, the integrated telephone system can be used to connect up to eight ISDN telephones to the HomeBox. Cordless phones can also be used, as there is a DECT base station for up to six DECT mobile phones. Customers can also use fax machines and IP phones.
Known ISDN functions such as the call number display or the conference circuit are available for all connected telephones. Customers without a fax machine can use the HomeBox to forward faxes via e-mail. Thanks to the integrated answering machine function, it is also possible to send voice messages to an e-mail address.
Provision and costs
All new customers of Internet and telephone packages of the company are offered the opportunity to use the HomeBox for five euros per month during the contract period. By the autumn, corresponding offers are also planned for customers who have already booked an Internet and telephone connection with Kabel Deutschland.
