Primecast brings InstantPrime video to the Chromecast: Since streaming services also became popular in the United States, Amazon tries with InstantVideo on a similar model. Together with Amazon Prime you book the streaming package and can use it with a computer or especially with devices marketed by Amazon.
Also interesting is
Although Amazon recently allowed the service to be retrieved on non-Amazon devices with Android - thanks to the "Amazon Instant Video Player", but an official support for Chromecast is still out.
The reason for this could be the competition between the existence of Google's Chromecast and Amazon's Fire TV. The latter has the special rights to also transfer films and series from Amazon to the domestic screen.
However, this has changed: SF Systems GmbH has developed an app named Primecast, which offers special Chromecast support. This makes it possible to transfer purchased or borrowed movies or series from the Amazon library via Chromecast to a TV.
The program is simple: manually enter the selected tracks into the app's "Watchlist" via a search bar. Subsequently, the user connects to the Chromecast and plays it with a touch on "Play". The scope is limited, but basic functions such as pause or fast-forward and rewind are implemented just like adjusting the volume.

You can find the app only in the Google Play Store. There she costs 2.99 euros and currently enjoys a high rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. However, since this is an unofficial solution to transfer to Chromecast, it is unclear whether Amazon will stop this service in the near future. Until then, however, the program works perfectly.
