The four tablets in the test are all equipped with the Android version 4.0.3, which is also called "Ice Cream Sandwich."

Compared to Android 3.0 (Codename "Honeycomb") it runs noticeably brighter. Other common features of the Tablet-Quartet are 10.1-inch displays with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and processors with four cores.


Conclusion: Only one is very good


The Galaxy Note 10.1 from Samsung is an innovative alternative to the iPad 3 of the arch rival Apple. In addition to the usual touch features, the Android 4.0 Tablet also provides input and operation via stylus, which also comes with proper handwriting recognition.


Also useful is the "multiscreen" function for the simultaneous use of two apps, even if this does not work with all apps. Although the Galaxy Note 10.1 is equipped with a good and luminous IPS panel - the pixel-thick display of an iPad 3 does not come close. The price is 689 euros.


You have the choice: Of the four devices tested in the test, especially the Galaxy Note 10.1 with its pencil input. With the Stylistic M532, Fujitsu offers an office-friendly tablet for the business-oriented business application. The Transformer Pad TF300T from Asus with its plug-in keyboard is a successful solution for mobile multipliers and Acers Iconia Tab A510 has despite its weaknesses as a cheap tablet its authorization.


Despite the points mentioned, the Galaxy Note 10.1 of Samsung deserved the test victory, especially by its very good performance values. The new quad-core processor is significantly faster than the Nvidia Tegra 3, which is installed in all other tablets in the test. The pen functions but one notes that the Android OS is not actually designed for this input method. In addition, the Samsung is priced at almost 700 euros.

The second place is the flat, light and very solid Fujtsu Stylistic M532, which is an interesting choice not only for business customers. The Asus Transformer Tab TF300T offers a good price-performance ratio with its practical keyboard dock. The cheap but hard Acer Iconia Tab A510 disrupts the comparatively bad display.
