Part 2: TFT displays: 19 inch TFTs

The Eizo L767 follows a classic and functional design, which gives a modern impression despite the computer-gray paint. Convenient is the connection of the screen via USB connector.

With the included software ScreenManager Pro the L767 can be operated from the PC and the user is allowed to create profiles. These will switch the monitor to the desired mode at application startup. When viewing the video, you increase gamma, in order to be able to see all the details more clearly. In the text mode, the monitor switches to settings that make it easy to work without fatigue. These fine-contrast modes can also be adjusted directly on the device. Nine keys seem at first glance to be extremely powerful for an input matrix, but prove to be the perfect control panel in practice. Only the keys are somewhat small. The OSD offers besides the usual settings for color controls for gamma, saturation and hue. The image of the Eizo convinces by brilliant colors and very fine contrasts. Especially in bright areas the picture proves to be detailed and well resolved. The basic tendency to blur dark image contents could be conveniently controlled by gamma correction. The image is balanced and uniform, but the edges of the image will be a bit too dark. Fast movements and scene changes for videos are no problem for the monitor.

The accessories can be seen. Two loudspeakers are integrated into the case and easily connected to the PC with the audio cable included. An additional connection to the monitor facilitates the plugging of headphones. Without crawling behind the PC can be so with full listening enjoyment in the apartment. For $ 899, the Eizo can no longer be considered a bargain, but the L767 is the uncompromising commitment to a professional screen.
