These features make Windows 10 worthwhile for translators

An upgrade to Windows 10 is the Info Center. It bundles the speech bubble messages of the operating system and the applications. This provides more overview and also offers a quick access to important settings such as flight mode, screen brightness and WLAN. Here too, Microsoft is updating with the Anniversary update: Smartphone notifications from Windows 10 Mobile and Android are now displayed in the desktop message bar, contacts appear with profile images, and messages are graphically displayed.

Technical advantages under hood


Notifications from other systems can be confirmed in the future with a click or tap on the PC and thus also disappear on the smartphone or tablet. The prerequisite is the installation of the Cortana app, which will soon be available to Microsoft for the iPhone, which is still in the beta stage for the Anniversary update. Synchronization takes place via the Microsoft account and requires an appropriate login on all devices used.


Windows 10 and Privacy


These and other improvements as part of the Anniversary Update are evaluating Windows 10 in details and provides additional ease of use. An exciting feature under the hood, namely the full support of the new Skylake process ghost of Intel, has moved Microsoft to a 2017 planned update. It is intended to bring significant performance advantages for Windows 10 and Apps through optimized clock rate control of the CPU cores.


Windows 10 - Pros and Cons


Convincing arguments under the hood, which speak for a change to Windows 10, exist mainly for users of Windows 7. The Windows Defender is permanently active as a basic virus scanner with background monitor, and with Edge, Windows 10 finally has a modern browser, which also allows add-ons as part of the Anniversary update, thereby gaining functions.


The polished task manager, the detection of SSD drives and virtual desktops for arbitrarily many work surfaces for the independent arrangement of programs are self-explanations, which need not be exhibited. Much of this is known from Windows 8.1


The data gathering fury that Windows 10 has with the Express settings is not acceptable. Microsoft grants access to user data by default. According to Microsoft, data collection is anonymous and encrypted, and the product improvement is improved, but the sheer volume and frequency of the collected data makes it possible to create detailed user profiles.


A simple step to avoid snooping is the registration by means of local user accounts. Otherwise, tools such as W10Privacy, O & O ShutUp, or XP-AntiSpy help in taming the collection.
