Handbrake is a free tool that allows you to reduce your large video files without any visible loss of quality. The tool uses the H.264 codec, which is widely used on the web and is recommended by Youtube. Open the program and select "Tools / Options". Go to "Output Files" and set the option "MP4 File Extension" to "Always Use MP4". Click "Close" to close the dialog

On the right side of the program you will see a list of finished setup profiles. To compress an HD movie, select High Profile. Tip 5: Simply compress video with handbrake
The result is always better, the longer handbrake works, usually the quality losses are not however serious. The settings under "Constant Quality" are more severe. The default value is "20". At a lesser value - the developers recommend 18 - the quality of the movie gets better and the file bigger. Values of 23 or 24 decrease the quality of the movie, but the files are smaller. In our tests of 20, we were able to reduce a full-HD film from 550 MByte to a good 200 MByte without visible loss of quality.
