You can not blame Google that you have Android bugs or is not bug-free – Microsoft and Apple have the same problem, incidentally. With Android, however, the situation is somewhat different, as at least half a dozen versions are parallel on the market. In addition, the adapted Android variants of smartphone and tablet manufacturers such as Samsung or HTC. Recognized bugs are fixed with new releases of the operating system in most cases.
Problem: WLAN can not reactivate
So there are errors in every software. Because modern programs consist of millions of codecels, it is inevitable that mistakes creep in. In addition, they must work on often very different hardware platforms, have to cope with several CPU types, graphics chips and the storage devices of different manufacturers. A lot can be tested in the run-up, but not every constellation of hardware, operating system and applications can be replicated in the laboratory.
Problem: Wi-Fi connection aborts
Older devices are often no longer supplied with new updates, and their owners have to see how they deal with the errors. But not only programming errors plague users, but also some design flaws and functional shortcomings of Android and the included apps. In the following, we will show you not only help with some well-known and particularly annoying bugs from the various Android versions, but also the descriptions of some apps that are turning around the cliffs in the operating system.
Problem: Birthdays from contacts with calendar sync
After a long pause, you can not connect the smartphone to the fun network again. The error was mainly known by the widely used mobile phones of the type ZTE Blade, which were sold in the United States in slightly modified form by E-Plus under the designation BASE Lutea. French telecom operator Orange offered it under the name San Francisco.
Problem: The year without December
For no apparent reason, the WLAN can no longer be activated, in the settings simply appears the error message. Then only a reboot of the phone helps. The most efficient way to do this is to install the App Blade Wifi Fix - as soon as the WLAN breaks, the connection is immediately re-established. An alternative is the app BLADE WiFi Alive, which ensures that the wireless network is also maintained in standby.
Despite optimal reception, interruption of the WLAN data stream occurs again and again. This bug does not appear on any smartphone. Partially, the mobile phone is probably not responsible for the connection breaks, but a heavily frequented WLAN environment - after a change of the radio channel some users were eliminated.
If the problem is only in standby mode, you can try the following: Tap Wi-Fi in the settings and open the menu. Then go to the Advanced tab and make sure that the Always selected option is selected for Wi-Fi in Idle mode. You may also need to switch off the power-on function with WLAN optimization, which is, however, bought with a shorter battery life.
The birthday appointments from the Android contacts app are not included in the calendar. Data will only be transferred if you synchronize your contacts with the Google Account. However, many users do not want the search engine operator's data family to be a thorn.
However, local synchronization on the smartphone or tablet is not provided. But there is an app again for this: Birthday Calendar Adapter Free creates a second calendar within the Android calendar and enters the birthday celebration.
In version 4.2 of his operating system, Google had forgotten the December calendar app, the year ended suddenly in November. A few days later the update to 4.2.1, which fixes this error, was hurried. But not all owners of Nexus devices got the bugfix. Some had to wait a few more weeks until version 4.2.2 was distributed.
It also fixed some other bugs, including the user-initiated reboot operations or the unexplained, sudden lighting up of the deactivated display. There were further errors in audio streaming via Bluetooth, which only produced some chopped sounds via the connected headphones and loudspeakers, and the non-functioning automatic brightness adjustment of the display on the Nexus 7 and 10.
If the WLAN was activated for a long time, you can not go back to the 3G network. This error can be observed with several mobile phones with Android 2.1 or 2.2. The manual solution is either to switch briefly to flight mode or to switch back to 3G in the settings from 3G.
It is more convenient with the Wifi Fixer app: it enables data connections to the mobile phone network to be set up with the WLAN enabled in a defined time interval, so that the network is always available.
Problem: No data exchange over mobile network
The accidental pressing of two buttons produces an error report. Android has always had the developer options, a hidden menu, which can be used to switch on USB debugging, for example. This feature allows applications on the PC to communicate with the smartphone or tablet via a USB connection. For example, this is required when you synchronize Outlook contacts or when you are rooting a device.
In order to make the developer options visible, go to the Settings on the phone and tap Build number seven times. From the fourth tap on Android, he tells you that you are now a developer. Then you will find the developer options in the settings under System. But there is a catch: If the developer options are enabled, press the volume up and volume down button on the rocker switch, and the power button - which can happen easily in the case, Android generates a bugreport.txt file and a screenshot .
Problem: Automatic bug reports
For Gmail users, the two files are automatically uploaded to Google. Since the bugreport in the extreme case several megabytes can be large, this is of course annoying. The App Trash Android Bugreports helps, it ensures that the reports are immediately deleted. However, you do not need Android 4.3 or higher. In these versions, the keyboard shortcut does not populate any reports.
On some devices, the problem is that they can not be recharged without warning at the wall outlet. The display in the icon bar remains unchanged, under Settings and Battery the message XX% - is not loaded. In order to limit the problem, you should first check whether the USB port on the PC or the device is not working. If so, try using a different charging cable. If this does not trigger any charging, please check the USB socket on your smartphone. If the plug is pushed very strongly and slightly angled, the contact tab may bend.
With a lamp in, lightly straighten the tab and clean the connector. However, if the phone charges with a USB connection to the PC and when it is switched off, you can do the following: Switch off the phone, remove the battery and the SIM card and press the power button for ten seconds. Then, recharge the battery and card, and leave the device to boot. In many cases it can also be recharged again at the socket.

Problem: Charging to the power outlet does not work.
Problem: Play Store no longer provides updates
Problem: Device Manager is disabled
After the installation of Android 4.2, the update of the apps breaks with an error message. The error occurs mainly on the Galaxy Nexus 7, but also on some smart phones. The solution is to delete the Google account on the device, and then create it again. In Accounts, tap Accounts on Google, and then tap your account.
In the top right corner of the Android menu, select Sync Now, and then remove account. After that, you can add it via Account and Google. Make sure you are connected to a WLAN.
Google Play's service administration turns off Device Manager. The Google Play services have the task to import smaller updates in Android without having to deliver a new operating system version. However, one of the latest updates to the services itself has a fatal bug, because it disables the Android device manager.
You can use this app to locate and lock your smartphone from the PC, or to delete its data. Google Play services 4.0.30 and 4.0.31 are affected. To find out the version number, tap Applications on Apps and go to Google Play Services. Then, in the Security and Device Administrators settings, ensure that the Android Device Manager is turned on. Tap it and enable it.
