New FritzOS to be ready for download: AVM has for its Fritz box rout and WLAN Repeater the FritzOS version 6.20 published. The firmware update is automatically ready for installation and can be downloaded to the device via the web address “http://fritz.box” and the update wizard. WLAN repeaters use the address “http: //fritz.repeater”.
FritzOS 6.20 offers for the Fritz box several improvements and innovations in the areas of WLAN, DECT, network storage, Smart Home and child safety. This is intended to provide users with more transparency, security and comfort as AVM declares in an official communication.
Among other things, the central security page has been revised, which provides an overview of all connected WLAN devices and summarizes security settings and information. New is the auto-update function in FritzOS 6.20, which will automatically install the user any further firmware update.
The FritzWLAN repeaters also benefit from the new operating system. Improvements include enhancing the repeater settings for smartphones and tablets. This includes a more comfortable operation of the WLAN timer and a clearer display of the device setting and speed.
