Yamaha YSP-2200 review

With no less than 16 calibers and 28 millimeters of diameter, as well as an ingenious control of the chassis line, Yamaha creates a sound field that simulates the sound sources of a 5.1 system.

For this purpose, Yamaha provides a microphone in the set, which measures the spatial dimensions by means of measurement impulses and determines suitable sound beam angles, as well as level and frequency response, in order to suggest to the listener, via reflections, all sound sources to the center of a 5.1 set

Five soundbars in the test

Thanks to its extremely flat design, the sound projector fits under or in front of any TV. A subwoofer, which can be accommodated both upright and lying in the sideboard, is waiting with two 10-centimeter chassis. The Yamaha has three HDMI inputs, an HDMI output, as well as analog and digital audio inputs.

No other sound beam was able to project the sound as far back as the YSP-2200. The performance was amazingly close to 5.1 sound. Tonal played the set very clean, only the maximum level was a bit limited. The bottom line is that the Japanese have an excellent price / performance ratio.
