Samsung NX1100 in the test

The new Samsung NX1100 is characterized by two special features: on the one hand, the RAW converter software Adobe Lightroom 4 on CD including serial number, and on the other hand, a WLAN module (IEEE 802.11n) allows wireless data transmission, for example the direct Mail sending of pictures or the automatic data protection on smartphone, tablet or PC. Currently, the NX system includes about a dozen lenses – less than Canon or Nikon SLRs, but quite enough to meet the needs of most newcomers.

Operation

On the Samsung NX1100 the hand and thumb support instead of a handy coating a slightly textured surface for more support. The rear panel monitor provides a sharper, clearer live view. A viewfinder and a mechanical image stabilizer is not available, the flash only separately (LZ3).

Image quality

The Samsung NX1100 processes up to 6.9 B / s and up to 10 B / series, while its 15-field contrast autofocus triggers it at 0.49 / 0.43 s. During the video recording, the sharpness with the kit zoom 3.5-5.6 / 20-50 mm is partly too jerky, partly unreliable. In addition, full-HD videos are lacking in dynamics and fine-tuning.

Test Conclusion

The Samsung NX1100 can be operated intuitively and quite efficiently, even beginners and converters find themselves quickly. The user can change important parameters such as ISO, white balance and exposure compensation with the left hand by pressing the i-Fn button on the lens or by pressing the right button (Fn button) quickly and efficiently with the rotary dial and four- Rocker navigated

At ISO 100 the Samsung NX1100 collects with high resolution (1.654 LP / BH), good, but overlapping color contrasts (1,324 LP / BH), very high dynamics (13.0 irises) and quite moderate noise (0.7 VN) Points. With ISO 400 the image quality is already significantly reduced, and as of ISO 1,600 numerous details are missing in the images.

Buying advice: favorite of the editorial team - the best mirrorless

Such versatile, comfortably implemented WLAN functions offers in this price class hardly another camera. The Samsung NX1100, however, sums up the buyer with the weaker image quality at higher sensitivities.
