Convenient Features The Smartfrog Camera & Babymonitor app comes with some useful extras. This allows you to turn your phones off to the camera or to activate the recording standby via GPS positioning in your smartphone. Anyone who does this should only consider that the location function consumes a lot of energy and drains the battery more quickly.


According to information on the website, Smartfrog places particular emphasis on data security and stores all videos "encrypted in high-security data centers". In the test, however, it was noticed that the camera transmits live preview images unencrypted and, according to the experts, is not protected against so-called man-in-the-middle attacks. Therefore users should avoid public hotspots when video is requested.


Good live videos, paired with clever features and an interesting rental model: The Smartfrog is fun. However, the modest download quality currently disturbs the overall image.
