Externally, the D3200 clearly resembles the still offered D3100 surpasses this however with the double resolution of the new CMOS sensor of 6016 x 4000 pixel. The "Guide" user guide already familiar with the Nikon D3000 / D3100 with graphical elements and sample images has been improved and extended, and should also enable users without deeper basic knowledge to take photo and video recordings. An advanced menu opens up additional features, such as the degree of motion blur.

With the optional GPS module GP-1, the geographic coordinates can be written into the Exif data of the photos just like the D3100.
The Nikon D3200 costs as a body without lens 600 euros, the set with the 18-55 mm VR standard Zoom 700 Euro (UVP).
