Toshiba AT300: Android tablet in the test

Toshiba AT300-101

Test report: The Android tablet AT 300 has become somewhat thicker with 8.95 millimeters, but is now equipped with the stronger quad-core processor Tegra 3 with 1.2 GHz clock frequency, which ensures a fast operation and good performance . With 590 grams, the 10-inch is still extremely light.

The IPS display with the usual resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels is pleasing by a good viewing angle stability. The flat but sturdy light metal housing lies well in the hand thanks to the ribbed back, all switches and interfaces are easily accessible. On the right side of the unit, there is a micro-USB jack and a micro-HDMI output.

The SD card slot also accommodates standard SD memory cards for a memory expansion of up to 32 GB. The built-in flash memory is only 16 GB in the 450 Euro test model AT300-101. Toshiba does not have a 3G module. The operating system Android 4.0.3 "Icecream Sandwich" was only supplemented by some tools like ThinkFree Office or McAfee WaveSecure. Toshiba also uses its own keyboard layout with Swype support.

Conclusion: The Toshiba AT300-101 is fast, very well processed and nevertheless very flat and light. However, it is relatively expensive.
