Windows 10 Update: Microsoft reworked GWX tool for criticism

“The free update to Windows 10 is ready, in 24 hours your computer will update” – so or similar, Microsoft’s GWX tool can report to the user Windows 10 closer. One way to close the window by clicking on the red X did not change anything at the set date. There were some hidden possibilities for demolition.

The criticism of many users causes Microsoft now to defuse the reference to Windows 10 about one month before the end of the free update phase. In the course of this week a Windows update is to come, which gives the user a clearer way to either accept or cancel the update. Clicking on the X should actually bring the expected effect and cancel a possible update schedule.

How the update for the GWX-Toll will look is not yet known. Microsoft's Lisa Gurry (Senior Director for Windows) said, "After hearing that users were" confused "by the hint window, we decided to change it."

Lesetipp: Switch to Windows 10 or not?

Confusion is probably not the case for many users, which really caused Windows 10 or the GWX tool. Countless readers - as we know from our access numbers - are looking for ways to disable the Windows 10 update. In some cases, even failed updates caused a system to become more or less unusable, as in the case of a US American who successfully sued Microsoft for such incidents because of Windows 10.
