Denon: New AV receivers and Blu-ray vans

The DBT-1713UD from Denon is not a Blu-ray player, but a Blu-ray Transporter. This is a Denon introduced name for a pure reading device as the DVD-2500BT was a. The transporter concept works as follows: The DBT-1713UD should read data in good quality and deal with nothing else. The sound and image processing, such as upscaling or the like, is taken over by the receiver alone. Via an HDMI connection the transporter provides the read data from DVD, Blu-ray Disc, Audio CD, DVD Audio. Data from the home network or the Internet can also be played on the DBT-1713UD via the network connection. It is designed to complement the two new AV receivers AVR-2313 and AVR-2113 from Denon.


These are equipped with a newly developed installation assistant in seven languages, which is designed to simplify the setup of the receivers. With a Denon Remote App for iOS, the most important control elements can also be controlled from Apple devices.


In detail, both AVRs have seven built-in power amplifiers, each with 135 W (AVR-2313) and 125 W (AVR-2113). Shortest possible signal paths should ensure distortion-free playback. Six HDMI inputs (one on the front panel for camcorders or smartphones) with support for 3D, audio return channel and CEC protocol provide enough connectivity. The AVR-2313 also has a second HDMI output so that a TV and a projector can be controlled at the same time. Both devices offer 4k-video support, which means that even the low-resolution video can be scaled up to 4k.


The network connection, which the two receivers possess, provides Internet content such as Internet radio or data from the home network and also the Apple AirPlay technology is at home in the two bolides. Particularly demanding home theater users will be interested in the Audyssey package, which is to guarantee an optimal sound quality in every room. Audyssey MultEQ XT measures the listening room characteristics and corrects the frequencies of the output accordingly.
