On Sunday the hacker published on 4chan a list of names of actresses and other well-known personalities, of which he claims to possess nude shots. These include Victoria Justice, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Kirsten Dunst and Avril Lavigne.
4chan has now deleted all posts on his website. However, the Nacktfotos now appear on various file sharing and photo websites.
Buzzfeed reported that the user had also released a screenshot of his desktop, on which a picture of Jennifer Lawrence should be seen.
The affected celebrities reacted differently to the published pictures. While some doubted the authenticity, others openly admit that the photos are genuine.
The famous celebrity gossip columnist Perez Hilton had initially published some censored and uncensored versions of the photos on his website. However, he has now deleted it and apologized for the contributions.
According to rumors, the hacker gained access to the photos of the celebrities through iCloud accounts. A corresponding demand with the offerer Apple had so far still no reaction. According to Huffington Post, the Los Angeles police currently has "no knowledge" of a hacker attack.
