The patch day is soon history: With Windows 10 Microsoft will abolish the 10-year-old tag for downloads of updates. Instead of delivering a whole series of patches every second Tuesday of the month, there will be two options for companies as well as end users (Windows 10 Pro). The goal is to provide patches faster than download in times of constantly new security risks.

Users can then choose to get patches for Windows on the one hand via push function. Updates are constantly being played into the system as soon as they are available and the computer has sufficient free resources for download and installation. On the other hand, users can choose to get patches delayed. This avoids problems with Windows Update, which almost seemed to be on the agenda in the recent past. If you want, you can also keep the current patch rhythm.
At the beginning, Microsoft introduced this model with "Windows Update for Business" only for companies, so that system administrators have more freedom in the planning and execution of updates. At the Microsoft technology conference Ignite 2017, Microsoft has further specified its plans, which also benefit Windows users with the Pro version of the new update system. Quickly delivered updates simply mean more security.
Windows 10 is to appear according to current knowledge together with Office 2017 in summer 2017. You can test both coming Microsoft products for free. For more information, just click on the linked messages and guide.
