Cutting hedge hedges

Spring comes and many people ask themselves when you should cut their beloved hedge in the garden. If you have asked parents, it is Google. And since we are here, there is also a direct answer.

The answer

The rule of thumb for a hedge cut is once mid-March and once at the end of July. The spring cut from mid-March should not be carried out at temperatures below -5 degrees Celsius and has the advantage that the hedge looks only a short time and soon again is bushy. In addition, the birds would be disturbed at a later date.

The summer cut is to be carried out at the end of July before it is cold and autumn again, so that the hedge can recover from the hardships. Otherwise, a hedge can be cut at any time at will. It should be noted, however, that from March to September inclusive you can only stutzen. If you want to get rid of your hedge completely or radically, you have to take the time until February in the winter months.
