Windows stores the current state of the operating system in so-called restoration points. If you later find that your PC is no longer working properly, you can restore the operating system's configuration to the previous state that the problem was not previously encountered by using such a recovery point. For example, you might want to create a system restore point when you are about to change the computer configuration and have some concerns. Or you just want to keep a more recent time when your computer has definitely worked to your satisfaction.

To do this, call the System Control Panel (Start / Control Panel / System and Security and System Selection under Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10), right-click the Windows icon in the taskbar, and then select System from the pop-up menu choose). In the left pane of this dialog, click the Computer Protection shortcut to display the System Properties dialog box. In this dialog box, click the Create button.
Note: If the Create button is disabled, you must first turn on the computer protection. To do this, click the Configure button, and then select Restore System Settings and Previous File Sessions. Then click on Apply and after the graying of the Transfer button, click on OK. Now the Create button should be enabled.
After clicking Create in the pop-up window, specify a brief description of the system restoration point you want to create and click the Create button. Windows then produces the recovery point and then displays an appropriate message. If necessary, you can use System Restore by clicking the System Restore button on the Computer Protection tab. You can then identify and select the custom recovery point from its description.
