XL Ultrabooks

Acer Aspire M5

With a 15.6 inch display diagonal, the Aspire M5-581TG-53314G12Mas, according to the full name of our test device, is one of the largest ultrabooks on the market. The 900-euro device is still only 21 millimeters thick and with 2.3 kg for its size comparatively light, but for an Ultrabook is too heavy. Despite the large screen diagonal, the reflective and slightly flat TN panel only produces a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

The M5 with its Nvidia GeForce GT 640M has by far the best 3D performance in the test field. It achieves a total of 8810 points in the 3DMark Vantage and thus more than twice the performance of the integrated Intel HD-4000 graphics, which is active in 2DB operation .
