Number series also say little. With a chart, you can present numbers much better. In Microsoft Excel 2013, you can also label and format your charts separately, in addition to the standard labels. With these possibilities, you will draw attention to special information. How to set additional labels in Excel is shown in this guide.
Create a chart as usual in Excel. Place it best on a separate chart sheet, then have a larger workspace available to edit the chart. Select the Format tab in the chart tools. In the Insert Shape group, click the Text Box icon. Drag the cursor to the diagram.
Press the left mouse button to drag the text field to the required size. Type the text you want. As long as you have selected the text field, the drawing tools are shown in the ribbon. Here you will find the possibility to format your text field as you like.
If you want to modify a data part of your diagram in Excel, click on it. With one click a whole data series is marked. Once you click a graphical data part a second time, only this one is selected. Now activate the Format tab in the chart tools. All formats you now set are applied to the selected item.
