At Aldi Nord, the laptop Medion Akoya E7226T (MD 99310) has been waiting for the price of 499 Euro since 16 January 2017. After a check of the basic data my tester: Buyers will look over Windows 8.1 with touch screen on an SSHD and annoy themselves over a comparatively high price, a high weight and little achievement. Office users and Internet users, the built-in processor, multimedia friends would complain, however, and a higher resolution at the 17-inch display. If you want to be mobile, you should look for alternatives because of the weight and the under-dimensioned battery.
Here's the details: In the Medion Akoya E7226T (MD 99310), an Intel Pentium N3520 with four cores with 2.17 GHz each, which can rise up to 2.42 GHz as required. The processor supports 64-bit systems, accesses a 2 MB cache, and has an integrated Intel HD graphics. The power consumption is low, but this is true despite the basic data. The Pentium-N series is designed for the low-cost and mobile market in contrast to the Haswell generation series.
Accordingly, the full-fledged Windows 8.1 in combination with more complex (desktop) applications should come quickly to its performance limits. Then, in our opinion, there is also a reason for why you should invest 499 euros in the Aldi laptop Medion Akoya E7226T (MD 99310) in a device that is soon not fit enough for your daily needs. With a display diagonal of 17 inches, 1,600 x 900 pixels with the resolution are too little for many users. The four-cell battery is likely to spoil the fun of interacting with a device weight of over three kilos of mobile-oriented users.
Pure office users who are looking for a desktop replacement and want to snoop in Windows 8.1 with touch screen should be served. If you want to edit pictures occasionally or even videos for Youtube & Co. cut, should look for alternatives. A good starting point would be our latest comparison test of notebooks below 500 euros. Here, you can sometimes do without a touchscreen or a nigier SSHD hard disk as in the Aldi device, but the performance of the devices tested should be much fun.
