Pinnacle convinces with Studio DV 8.7.1 through its exemplary simple user guidance: The program is unequivocally structured with the three areas of 1 recording, 2 editing and 3 movie making and does not ask the user with confusing many functions. The current intermediaterelease offers important optimizations compared to the first 8.x versions, like a better MPEG output, which is now much faster. However, the quality is still worse than MainConcept.
We particularly missed the QuickTime support for import and export formats. Although there is no batch capturing in the actual sense, there is the possibility to read videos in a much smaller resolution and then capture the necessary material with the times.
