Sony HX60V in the test

With the “Ideal dimensions” 108 x 64 x 38 mm one can assign the Sony Cybershot HX60V already the somewhat chubby Models. Also 270 g are not of cardboard. But there are also interesting details, which are here: On the camera top a mode setting wheel and another setting wheel for the exposure correction – this is rather rare for compact cameras.

Also interesting is

The default setting of the Sony HX60V for the various recording modes P, A, S, M, MR, film, pan panorama, scene selection, intelligent automatic and superior automatic is made at the main setting wheel. Thanks to an understandable layout, everything is easy to survey and easy to set up.

Conclusion

The 3-inch display of the Sony HX60V plays with 307,000 RGB pixels in the Bundesliga. Color and brightness do not change even at extreme viewing angles. Symbols and text are partly small and call for a reading aid. The brightness gradation in five steps is good and actually allows an adaptation to the prevailing light conditions.

The 10-Ten Digital Compact Cameras

The focal range from 24 to 720 mm (KB) is huge. This means that you are not only optimally equipped for all shooting situations, but also the "heranzoomen" of distant motifs is possible. Close-up pictures can be taken from a distance of five centimeters.

The Sony HX60V is well processed and makes a very stable impression. External flash units can be attached to the flash shoe - which is a rather rare equipment detail for compact devices.

Plus points the Sony HX60V collects with the picture quality. The 20 MP sensor dissolves at wide angle in the center of the image 1683 LB / BH and this value drops without large jumps. The marginal waste is rather moderate with about 250 LP / BH over all sensitivities. In the Tele, however, the power drop is megazoomtypically high.

We were disappointed by the autofocus: 0.40 s in the wide angle and 1.04 s in the tele are weak.

The Sony HX60V is a travel camera with lush zoom and good equipment. Also the picture quality is right. However, the price of almost 400 euros is also really steep.
