Canon Pixma: New photo printer announced

The Pixma iP8750 is specifically designed for home photo printing and offers a six-ink system with a separate gray ink, which promises Canon’s high-quality photoprints in color and black-and-white photoprints with clean gradations. The printer is designed to quickly print photos as well as documents borderless to A3 +


Price and availability


In the A4 format, Canon has a printing speed of 14.5 black-and-white or 10.4 color ISO pages (ESAT) per minute. An A3 photoprint should be printed in only two minutes. The iP8750 also features the Direct Disc Print function with label templates for printing on suitable BDs, DVDs, and CDs.


The Pixma iX6850 is the successor of the iX6550 and also for photos. It now offers LAN and WLAN interfaces. The Pixma iX6850 features a five-ink system with pigmented black ink and dye-based inks. In addition to the optional XL inks, there is now also an XXL black ink tank, with which the Pixma iX6850 up to 1,000 A4 in the black and white printing should be. The printing speed should be at 14.5 black-and-white or 10.4 color ISO pages (ESAT) per minute in A4-size printing.


The Pixma MX475 and Pixma MX535 models, on the other hand, are designed for the home office and are thus equipped as an all-rounder with print / copy / scan and fax functions. They replace the MX455 and MX525 models and provide automatic document feed for up to 30 sheets when copying and scanning. The Pixma MX535 also offers automatic two-sided printing.

For private users, the Pixma iP2850 replaces the Pixma iP2700. The Pixma iP2850 automatically turns off the printer via Auto Power Off if it is not used in a defined period of time. Auto Power On will turn it back on automatically when printing.


The Canon models Pixma iP2850, iX6850 and iP8750 are available from February at the price of 49 euros, 199 euros and 349 euros in trade. The two MX models will be available from March at the price of 99 euros and 119 euros.
