Sony HT-NT3 in the test

The Sony HT-NT3 is a 6.3 centimeter high soundbar with wireless subwoofer and adapts to your living room design by its simple black look. In terms of power supply, however, we face a small obstacle at the outset: the power cable connected to the soundbar is a bit short and we have to rebuild it to get the beam functional.

For the connection to the TV, the Sony HT-NT3 can choose between three HDMI, two optical inputs and an analog audio input. The side-mounted USB port is convenient for playing music tracks. An HDMI cable is supplied.

We start with "The Dark Knight". The spatial image masters the Sony HT-NT3 well, shots and explosions sound out of the intended direction. Three different voice modes are available for ideal speech reproduction. If you press the Clear audio button, Sony automatically adjusts the sound playback according to the content and function, which works well. As an alternative, the recommended movie mode is recommended for movies. Anyone can choose between a lot of sound settings - cool for gaming fans: an extra mode developed in collaboration with PlayStation developers.

In the music business, the soundbar scores less: voices lose their naturalness and the bass sounds very little precisely. Unfortunately, there can be no really coherent overall picture. The accompanying SongPal app offers, among other things, streaming via Google Cast and a multi-room function for other Sony speakers.
