Samsung revised smart hub interface for Samsung Smart TVs

The Korean manufacturer Samsung has updated its Smart TV surface Smart Hub an update. Access to TV content, features and networked devices is now easier and easier for the smart TV user.

The Smart Hub menus have been more clearly structured and enriched with preview images and additional information. The Smart TV interface is controlled by touch remote, talk or gesture control. Samsung has divided the menu of the Smart Hub into five areas: My Movies & Series, My Photos, Videos & Music, My Social Networks, My TV Apps, and My TV Programs Br>

The new Smart Hub allows TV consumers to access various cloud services such as Dropbox or Skydrive via the TV. In addition, the menu item "My Photos, Videos & Music" can be used to display media data from smartphones, tablets, cameras and all devices accessible via USB or DNLA


The social media platforms Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are quickly accessible under the section "My social networks". Photos or videos can be played back in high quality. Samsung Smart TVs with built-in camera enable high-quality Skype calls.


No smart TV comes out without apps. According to Samsung, the "My TV Apps" menu item has several hundred smart TV apps available that can help increase the television experience. The user interface of "My TV Apps" has been designed more clearly.


The fifth and last menu item is called "My TV Programs". Below you will find additional information and dynamic previews of the current TV program. In addition, the S-Recommendation function will be able to create a TV program offer from the user's previous viewing habits.


The new Smart Hub will be available for all 2013 Smart TVs, as well as for current Samsung home cinema and Blu-ray players. Smart TVs from the 2012 series (series ES7090, ES8090 and ES9090) can also be upgraded to the new Smart Hub using the Smart Evolution Kit. The extension box is simply inserted into the corresponding slot on the back of the TV.
