With passwords, this is such a thing: On the one hand, they should safely protect against unauthorized access by others. On the other hand, you need to remember each password – otherwise you will be left out of the case.
Remembering the abundance of passwords, pins, and secret numbers you need now is not that easy. On the computer alone, the passwords quickly add up to more than a dozen: from Windows access, via one or other e-mail account to services such as book ordering, sending SMS and uploading photos. Who then still protect their own files on the local PC from strange glances is, in case of doubt, lost and sold: How is the sheet protection of the Excel table? Or: Why did I only provide the zip archive with a password? Especially with encrypted files or applications that you do not use every day, your own memory quickly gets lost.
The solution for this misery is delivered by KeePass Classic. The database of the software is secured by a central password, which can be saved in the form of a key file on a USB stick or on a CD / DVD. The encryption uses Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and 256-bit Twofish. Even a combination of key-file and conventional password is provided.
KeePass Classic is intended for installation on a Windows computer. The KeePass Classic Portable software is also available for use while on the go with a USB stick.
