Xbox One Controller on PC: Unofficial gamepad driver as a download

An unofficial PC driver is available for download from the Xbox One controller. The programmer, Lucas Assis, is responsible for this. As of now, it is possible to use the positively recorded development of the Xbox 360 gamepad on the PC, although Microsoft has not yet implemented the promised support.

An official version of the driver for the Xbox One Controller from Microsoft appears according to the Redmonder company during the year. In the release, you will also explain why the Xbox One controller has not been made accessible to the computer for so long.

Already in December 2013 another programmer published a workaround for the problem, but had to retain it after consultation with Microsoft. Now Assis has published a video explaining the use of his driver.

According to the online magazine ArsTechnica, this also works "largely". A few minor problems, such as the lack of support for the Rumble function, remain, however - for a seamless support of the Xbox-One gamepad, PC players have no choice but to wait for Microsoft's version of the driver.

Tip: If you are interested in purchasing the Xbox One controller, you will find suitable offers at amazon.de. There is the gamepad as a simple wireless version and as a Play & Charge Kit with additional charging station.
