The WD SmartWare Pro also provides the user with various backup options. In order to effectively protect your own digital data, a local cloud or system backup is required. The My Book Duo has a variety of RAID modes that provide a variety of benefits.
Unlike RAID 0 support, which maximizes drive speed and capacity, a further copy of the digital content can be created in RAID 1 mode to provide real-time backup, providing additional protection. Using the included backup software solutions WD SmartWare Pro and Acronis True Image, you can create local, cloud, and system backups.
Another useful feature is the My Book Dropbox integration, which allows you to save data from the dropbox on the local disk. In addition, WD SmartWare Pro can be used to back up local data to the dropbox cloud. Other security features of the My Book Duo are 256-bit AES hardware encryption and password protection.
The My Book Duo has a two-year limited warranty and will be available in three price categories: while the RRP for the 4-TB version is 259 euros, you pay 319 euros for the 6-TB version and 369 euros for the Version with 8 TBytes. You can buy the dual hard drive from select dealers and the WD online store soon.
