The black Lowepro Pro Runner 300 AW looks unimpressive. It weighs 1380 g and holds an SLR kit including a light-weight Telezoom, replacement case, three interchangeable lenses, flash and tripod.
On the inside of the lid Lowepro sews lockable accessory compartments, including two exemplary padded storage cartridges. There is an unpadded general-purpose compartment at the front, a mesh pocket and a loop for optional lens kits and other extensions at the sides.
A lot of space for a lot of weight, which the support system does not quite meet. The shoulder straps are thin, the waist belt and carrying handle are not padded. On the other hand, the back part with a particularly thick overlay is very good where the pressure is usually high at high weight.
In the floor, an integrated rain cover hides, creating a slight arch and the Pro Runner 300 is not completely stable. The zippers are concealed and protected, but they are relatively heavy at the corners. A lock can be attached to the tabs.
Conclusion: A solid, simple and comparatively lightweight backpack for the big SLR equipment. Processing and price are fine.
