Panasonic DMP-BDT335 on the test

If you have used a Panasonic Blu-ray player last year, you will probably remember the many picture-setting possibilities: for example, the noise reduction, the black level or the super resolution. There is no more in the current models, as Panasonic buys the image processor, as well as most other manufacturers, but it does so to meet the quality requirements of the Japanese.

We are also impressed by the qualities of the player. DVDs it scales cleanly on Full HD, so that the film credits of a movie runs quietly across the screen. There are also crisp colors and a high level of detail - even with Blu-rays. Even the 4K scaling capabilities can convince. To avoid creating ugly moires, you should set the sharpness to "-1". It can also be used with the much more expensive Blu-ray player reference OPPO BDP-103 EU in terms of picture quality.

The DMP-BDT335 is also very enthusiastic. You can navigate very smoothly through menus. The online portal is packed with apps such as the ZDF and ARTE media centers as well as the online video stores WATCHEVER and Acetrax. But we have missed a control app for mobile devices, which helps with surfing with the integrated web browser. Something is incomprehensible is the selective handling of media formats. This allows the popular MKV videos to play from USB hard drives, but not from DLNA servers.

So the Panasonic is not the smartest player, but the picture quality is unbeaten in this price class. A real highlight.
