HP expands the All-In-One family with the psc 2100. The basic functions of printing, scanning and copying are available. The setting options are clear and logical. The psc 2100 has a USB interface for connecting to the PC. A suitable cable is not included. The clear device control panel has a one-line display. The user can zoom in or out from 50 to 400 percent, and select up to 50 color or black-and-white copies from the original.
In the copy mode, the copies lost a little bit of color intensity. The integrated A4 flatbed scanner delivers up to 600x1,200 dpi optical resolution with a color depth of 48 bits. The preheating process of the scanner lamp requires fast four seconds. The cover of the scanner can be pulled out approx. 3 cm, so that even thicker originals are well covered. The printing unit of the psc 2100 works very quietly at a resolution of 1,200x1,200 dpi. In the test the device reached six pages of the Grauert-Standardbrief in the minute. With the optional photoprinter and the corresponding photo paper, the psc 2100 delivered prints in good photo quality. A portrait print in A4 needed a good five minutes.
